The evidence
What this is built on, and what it is not
Being evidence-led means saying where the research is strong and where it is not. Both matter.
Mental rehearsal
Imagining a movement engages much of the same neural machinery as performing it. Motor imagery is one of the better-established findings in sports psychology, and it is why rehearsal is practice rather than daydreaming.
The limits are real too. Effect sizes vary by task and by how vividly an individual imagines, and rehearsal supports physical practice rather than replacing it. Detail matters more than duration — a vivid minute beats a vague ten.
Hypnotherapy
Hypnosis is a state of focused attention with reduced peripheral awareness. There is reasonable evidence for its use in habit change, pain management and anxiety, and it is recognised as an adjunct in several clinical contexts.
What we will not tell you is that it rewires your subconscious or unlocks hidden potential. Those claims are made a great deal in this field and they are not supported. What the evidence does support is that focused, repeated rehearsal in a relaxed state helps people change behaviour — which is what the programmes are built to do.
Identity-based behaviour change
Behaviour that follows from how someone sees themselves is more durable than behaviour that depends on motivation. Self-concept and self-efficacy are well studied, and they are the reason the programmes work on who you are becoming rather than only on what you want.
What we do not claim
- We do not diagnose or treat any medical or psychological condition.
- We do not claim results that are guaranteed or typical.
- We do not claim to alter brain structure, and we make no neurological claims beyond what the research supports.
- We are not a substitute for care from a qualified professional. If you are being treated for a health condition, speak to your clinician before starting.
How programmes are written
Each programme is designed against a documented methodology and reviewed before it is published. Where a programme touches an area needing clinical judgement, it is reviewed by someone qualified in that area rather than by us alone.
